SNEAKPEAK...

So we shot our 2012 lookbook ...it's finished and at the printers... yey!!!  This time was REALLY stressfull maybe because the pressure is up?  We are taking this collection to 4 different tradeshows this season and going international so I really really want it to be all perfect!  Next week we are off to Paris!  I want to show you a couple of the shots we'll use for the website....

Monday Must Have Series...Tara Guerard

Good Morning!  Welcome back to the Monday Must have series!  Today, I'm so happy to introduce Tara Guerard of Soiree! Tara is an award winning event planner who's summer tips I know you will enjoy!!!  She also shared a little cocktail receipt I can't wait to try.  To say that she's an expert would be an understatement. Tara published not one but two books and is just an AMAZING at what she does!!!  She happens to be a Marysia SWIM fan and I hope one day we can work together on some amazing store opening perhaps??:)  What do you think?

1. For the beach, I love this simple J.Crew Summer Straw Hat in Natural.  I have been wearing this hat for years and find that it’s just perfect for a day at the beach

2. Marysia SWIM Meke Maillot in Black. So comfortable and flattering!

3. Tantowels towelettes. Perfect for getting a tan glow without the harmful damage of the sun

4. Lettered Olive “Surcee” Tags.  These letterpressed gift tags for wine & champagne will be available on our Lettered Olive website (www.theletteredolive.com) by the end of June. They are perfect to add to any host and hostess gift, since the summer months are most often filled with parties and gatherings with friends and family. 

5.  Lettered Olive Stemware Collar. Another entertaining “must have” to elevate an impromptu cocktail party!  (They will also be available on the website at the end of June).

6. Green "Lane Chair" by Frank and Lane. This new chair that I designed is meant to update the old chivari style.  It’s simple, sleek and elegant for any occasion!  (Available to the public at the end of Fall 2011. 7. Tara Guerard Soiree's signature drink – the “Lowcountry Lemonade”. A refreshing and yummy drink for summer entertaining!  Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

Crushed Ice

1 oz. Peach Schnapps

Lemonade

Garnish of your choice, such as fresh mint or a flower

8. Hydrangeas for a quick flower arrangement using different sized vessels... Always classic  

9. Jewelry by Janet Porcher Gregg – substantial pieces to pep up a casual summer outfit.

Monday Must Have Series...Jackie Thomson

Jackie Thomson is one ON TREND lady!  She reads all the magazines like its her job...oh wait it is her job:)  Leapfrog PR is a boutique Public Relations firm she co-ownes together with Libba Osborne.  Thanks to Jackie I had someone to help me when I first started my business, in Charleston.  She tough me a lot about PR and I'm happy to call her a good friend!  Enjoy this professional's summer must haves...the girl knows her stuff!!!  JUST SAYIN!  Thank you Jackie for sending along your favs!  xoxo-marysia

• Travel is a fun part of the summer and, of course you can’t show up with just any rolling bag for luggage (I have the Stylist bag in cream/orange) from STEAMLINE
• Miami is such a fun city to visit in the summer and this TIDES hotel is a new favorite.  I have so many fond memories of Miami (including when I handled the PR for Marysia’s first show during MBFW!!) and hope to make yearly visits from now on.
• I’m into reddish-orange toes these days… this one is FIRE by Chanel
• Talei top and bottom from Marysia SWIM – neutral color and thoughtful details.  roll up if you’re not having a good bikini day and down if you’ve taken at least 2 pilates classes in the past week.
• Pretty much the only sunscreen I ever use – the old school Bain de Soleil!  Gives your skin the best sheen (which hides a lot of flaws as well!) and smells magnificent
• best fitting jeans for my body style…ever!
• Hermés printed beach pareos are chic, easy and full of rich colors.  Perfect beach cover-up!
• Market bag packed for a picnic with rosé (you know how I love my wine), water, cheese, tomato and a baguette.  Perfect!

Lookbook inspiration

This Thursday is our 2012 lookbook shoot !!!!!!!!  Below is a little inspiration for the shoot. 

 I'm so excited!

  This is my favorite part of the whole year Both lookbooks for women's and BUMBY at once...eeekkkk  and my little Elle is debuting her modeling talent too:)   The photographer is a young talented individual I met in Charleston.  He's still a student at the Art Institute there but he already started his own online magazine VENT.  Hair and makeup artists are the same from last year....I loved working with them so we'll be at it again this year.  The model is also the same...the brunette, Jessica from FORD is perfect for this year's vision:)  Can't wait to share with you some of the images soon:) XOXO

Barbara Beach...re-blogging

Hello friends! I'm so sorry about MIA but we just moved into out NYC and we won't have internet till Thursday.  I'm sitting here at the Starbucks on Broadway right around the corner trying to get some work done and I remembered I have the perfect re-blog to post here for you.  Barbara Beach is a children's designer from Charleston, SC and she had some fun with our swimsuits, doing a little photoshoot with a friend.  Check out her blog http://bbinspired.blogspot.com/ here for more wonderful blog post and inspirations.  I love her and her clothing line... Aren't they adorable?

 I've been wanting to go surfing again.. but will not go alone. The water is almost perfect! I can't wait to go back when it's boiling hot and the water is just right:) I have to say though... it's also an excuse to wear my favorite swimsuits!

Girl's trip...

I want to tell you a little bit about our girl trip to Miami. We ended up staying at the SHORE CLUB SOUTH BEACH hotel as the RALEIGH was giving it's beautiful pool a facelift.  My friend Sally Benidict (a talented artist I told you about before here) joined my daughter and I for a little girly getaway and it was perfect! Elle learned to swim all on her own and we were soooo very excited to swim together and drink pina coladas:) We did a little shopping and had a lot of fun in the sun.  Next year we are doing it again!  I hope:)
