Holiday weekend recap...

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!!!  Our first Thanksgiving as hosts in New York City was wonderful!  We had members of our families..even an aunt and uncle from Poland!  I had fun making a pumkin and pecan pies with Elle...and Nathaniel made most of everything else (i know I'm a lucky girl to have a chef hubster) ...well wait a minute I also made the mashed sweet potatoes:)  I love setting a table and I'm quite happy how it turned out.  We had 10 people over so added the kitchen table to make it longer...what do you think?  Like my new dining room chairs?  Friday we went to the Central Park Zoo and walked down 5th avenue to see the holiday windows at Beargdorf Goodman..wow!  You have to go see for yourself because these pictures don't give it justice.  Saturday we went to the Lincoln Center to see The Nutcracker....Elle loved it!  Oh and because of all these awesome babysitters we have here Nathaniel and I got to go to yoga every day!  That's a big treat and made it all the better weekend.  How was your thanksgiving?  What pie do you usually make?

ps. Thank you to all who came by our sample sale!

Things I'm Thankful for/ gift of press

We are two days away from Thanksgiving, so thanks we must give!  I'm thankful for the chairs that arrived yesterday so my family has something to sit on at the table of feast!   No but seriously...there is sooooo much I have to be thankful for and I won't bore you with all the names of people but I do have a nice little thing to share and a nice little person to THANK!  Her name is Amy Flurry...She taught me how to do my own Public Relations. With 18 year of experience in freelance writing, contributing, producing articles for top national magazines and online publications she knew the editors take on PR.  Later she started her own business... Paper Cut Project....so this gave her the other side's view and the need for Press.  She knew both sides so she started to teach these PR seminars out of Athens, GA.  Amy's seminars became a huge hit but she saw a larger audience in need that she wasn't reaching and so she wrote us a book...THANK YOU AMY!!!
Go on buy one for yourself and one for your friend who has their own business and needs press for success!  I learned so much and have been doing my own pr for 2 years now...and have you seen my PRESS PAGE?  just saying...
Not to take anything away from the girls at LEAPFROG PR, who helped me start and also tough me alot along the way...I'm not sure I'll be taking *smack now with out their help for the first two years.  Either way you go about it Amy's book is an awesome tool and there is always more to learn and more press to get.  If you do it yourself you must know it, if you pay someone to do it for you , you must know what to expect.

ps. Read a little more about how Amy decided to write this book here
pps.  A quote of mine is on the back cover!!!  hehe you'll just have to buy it to see :)

*just kidding

Tara Stiles...

I've been thinking a lot about this new interview series I want to introduce here on my blog.  I have made some new friends in nyc and I wanted to share some of them with you.  They are so interesting and inspiring I don't know where to start.
My number one person to interview is Tara Stiles  She has inspired not only me but a wide audience around the world with her healthy and relatable approaches to exercise, awareness, nutrition and everyday well being.  There is so much I could ask her I decided to do a whole series about just HER....Thank you Tara for letting me share a lot of your goodness to my readers.  I hope this series will be helpful to your life as it has been to mine.  Lets start by introducing Tara Stiles..."the coolest yoga teacher ever" -vanity fair
Tara is a yoga teacher, author, model, and a role model.  I have been taking classes for over two months with her and other super teachers at the Strala Yoga studio.  It's making me want to change my life and become a whole peaceful, centered, wise and so on.  Practice is the key NOT perfection! sooo let's start with an fun interview and I'll continue with more on Tara on either Tuesdays or Thursday...just bacause I'm silly like that.  She has a video blog that's awesome...be careful if you start watching it's hard to stop. And what's better for my blog then a little bikini body HOW TO...right?
If you don't live in New York City, don't you worry she has videos for sale HERE.  You can also purchase her "Slim Calm Sexy Yoga"
ok here we go with the interview:

ms. Your yoga video with Jane Fonda is so cool!  How did you meet her?

Jane has been a hero of mine since I can't even remember.  I literally got a phone call asking me if I could come to LA and meet Jane, she's doing a new project and interested in meeting you. . etc.  So of course, I flew out, met with her.  It was so surreal.  It was in a hollywood studio, Jane was sitting on the couch, and I literally sat on the floor at her feet.  I felt most comfortable there.  We spoke about dance and yoga and making yoga something that wasn't scary and that people can connect with easily.  We hit it off and she asked me to be in the project right there.  I was so excited to just be speaking with her.  Ever since we've been friends and she's been so generous in supporting and saying nice thing about me.  She's the best!

ms: On your video blog you share some eats, yoga routines, answer all kinds of questions but what's something that people may not already know about you and find surprising?

Tara: I'm not super strict with my food.  I think people might get the impression that I am a raw vegan, porton control person, but I really eat based on awareness and how I feel.  I have the occasional pizza and glass of wine, but not every day.

ms. your yoga studio is located in SOHO...do you find people here more open minded then in other parts of nyc?

Tara: I think people in NYC are generally pretty open minded, but I find that everywhere.  Once you are able to connect, instead of putting yourself above or below another person, we are all the same.  We all want to connect with each other.  It's human nature.  We are a lot simpler creatures than we like to think sometimes :)

ms. your skin looks amazing and it doesn't look like you wear much makeup...at least when I see you.:)  What's your beauty routine? Do you get any special treatments in the city?  Go to a cool spa? Trust me...we all want to know!

Tara: I don't go to the spa (except when I'm leading a reatreat at the Standard in Miami) and then it's steam room, sauna, pool, hot tub, yoga on regular rotation.  My skin regimen is juicing, happy thoughts, lots of water, and headstand.

ms: We are getting together for a girls night...where do you take me in our nolita/soho hood?

Tara: that would be fun.  We'd go to Gemma, the restaurant connected to the Bowery Hotel.

ms: What is your biggest accomplishment so far in your career?

Tara: A girl recently connected with me via facebook about how I am helping her through a severe eating disorder.  She is finding her center through meditation and yoga and she says my videos help her connect without feeling any pressure.  That makes me happy.

ms:  lastly..What's your favorite style in our new 2012 collection?:) and when can we see your bikini body videos?

TARA: I like the suit you hooked me up with!  Very pretty and easy.  First bikini video is up!

xoxo
She's amwesome right...don't you love her too? i'm gonna be late for my 8am yoga class....see ya

Thanksgiving table decor...

Via louboosa and shoes blog

the chairs I need via Pinterest
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year in our nyc loft!  I love entertaining and and so excited to have family here with us for my favorite holiday! The above pictures are inspiring my table decor.  I love the organic feeling of the above.  I hope I can create something with the same feel but do you think I can with my gild trimmed china and white/blue metal table? Also it would help if we had dining table chairs!  Since the move we've been living with out those...only using our kitchen chairs, which I have 4 of.  I'll use those for the ends but I'm really hoping they have these in stock for me to buy before the Turkey day.  I better get to it...only 8 days to go.  How are you decorating your table?  I would love to know your inspiration....any tricks of how to make gold trimmed china look organic?

Monday Muse...ST. TROPEZ

Another Slim Arron's photograph favorite...the legendary St. Tropez is located on the French Riviera.  This town was and still is a summer  'playground to jetsetters, fashion models, and millionaires', and it is most-enduringly known as the place where the iconic Brigitte Bardot was "discovered" and for its role in the liberation of southern France during World War II...
So naturally we had to name a swimsuit after this beautiful place.

1. Marysia SWIM's ST. TROPEZ bikini...is available in three colors..the bottoms are the perfect bikini bottoms.  The top has removable pads and ruffles that fit all sizes well | 2. Anja Rubik...the hair inspiration for our shoot, where my jewelry designer friend and I were the hairdresses:) | 3. Catherine Deneuve is St. Tropez, 1965 via PINTEREST | 4. can't make it to our sweet destination?...use this self tanner voted best in 2011 by IN STYLE magazine as for at least the St. Tropez tan.
